01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled along the vibrant promenade of P.º las Canteras in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Pincho J is a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Spanish cuisine, particularly the beloved local specialty: pinchos. This charming eatery captures the essence of traditional tapas culture, offering an inviting, casual atmosphere where the real star is the food—and the breathtaking sea views naturally elevate every bite.

At Pincho J, the menu is a carefully curated celebration of flavors, showcasing an extensive variety of pinchos that range from savory to sweet. Guests are treated to an array of small, artfully crafted bites that tantalize the palate—each piece boasting fresh, high-quality ingredients and bold, harmonious tastes. Whether you’re indulging in skewers topped with perfectly seasoned meats, or savoring delicate bites layered with fresh seafood and vibrant vegetables, every mouthful feels like a mini fiesta of textures and aromas.

The dining experience here is wonderfully unpretentious yet deeply satisfying. Regulars and visitors alike appreciate the genuine ambiance—a lively, somewhat rustic setting where laughter and the clinking of glasses mingle with the salty ocean breeze. The venue can get a bit bustling, but this adds to the authentic charm, making it feel like a true local hotspot. Staff are noted for their warm attentiveness, ensuring that each visit is smooth and inviting.

What truly sets Pincho J apart is the seamless blend of excellent cuisine at very approachable prices, combined with the stunning backdrop of the Canteras beach promenade. It’s the perfect spot for a casual aperitif or a quick, flavorful bite to eat. As Luca Lozzi aptly puts it, Pincho J makes it incredibly easy to enjoy a great aperò with a few beers and pinchos, creating a relaxed, joyful dining rhythm.

Reviews consistently praise both the authentic taste and the welcoming atmosphere. Customer Giulia highlights it as “Best pinchos with the best view and amazing price,” while Asia Burnell recommends it as a refreshing alternative to the more refined tourist eateries, calling it “a lovely small authentic local place with great location and beautiful views.” Maksym Kapitaniuk, a visitor from London, was pleasantly surprised by the quality and affordability, summing it up as “very tasty” and highly recommendable.

For anyone seeking a genuine taste of Gran Canaria’s culinary heritage, Pincho J is a must-visit. Its combination of aromatic, expertly crafted pinchos, friendly service, and enviable seaside setting promises a memorable, sensory-rich experience that will linger long after the last bite.

I loved how easy it is to have a great aperò here! Stop, sit, order a couple beers with pinchos on the side and you are done! Food: We had 2 beers and 4 pinchos and it was plenty for a quick bite in the afternoon. They offer loads of choices to pick the perfect combination for your tastes (savoury & sweet). Service: Nice and fast, not much more is needed. Location: The venue is a bit rustic but it’s located on the main walkway by the beach. It simply perfect to share a few beers and chill looking at the ocean, while eating pinchos. We paid 12€ in total.

Good pintxos right on Las Canteras beach. Both hot and cold options available. Good wine, quick service. Ideal for a hearty break between lunch and dinner. Only downside: it's located in quite a windy corner.

Super good small tapas/ pinchos! You can choose the ones you like from the counter, it’s a small bar, but with tables outside. Price is very good, 2.10euro/1.40 for a piece. You can enjoy the sea view. Cool place for normal people

I ate in fancy restaurants in my first days in Las Palmas and never enjoyed the food as much as I enjoyed the tapas in Pincho J! And prices are so cheap compared to quality! I can recommend everyone who wants to enjoy local tastes without tourist trap and grumpy waiters/waitresses. All the waiters/waitresses are super nice and helpful. Highly recommended!
